If the shoe fits! The timing of the music and Max's "exit" are spot on. :-)

This kid LOVES to dance! Check out his sweet moves.

Max loves to help with chores around the house. He can carry items from one room to another, throw paper in the recycling bin, wipe off his high chair tray, put away books and toys, and even helps with the laundry! I let him drag a bag of dirty laundry to the laundry room and he was very focused and determined to do it all by himself.

Based on Max's facial expression, do you think he enjoyed the slide? haha

Max just can't stay off the dance floor! Keep an eye out for the older boy who runs by during the video. It turns out that Max was imitating him!

Our tiny, silly lizard...

Max is completely obsessed with dogs. Our neighbors have two dogs that really enjoy being outside. Whenever we go out to play, Max always makes a beeline to the side yard to check and see if the dogs are out. He loves to "bark" back at them (which he does in a whisper), wave at the dogs, and just sit down and watch what they do (or don't do). Max has also been known to sit down in front of our bedroom window to look at the dogs. Sophie, our six year old neighbor, commented, "I think he likes our dogs more than we do!"
At the beginning of the video he is saying, "Hi dog! Hi dog!", around the 26 second mark he says "Bandit" which is the name of the little dog (Grover is the big black dog on the steps), and you'll hear Max start to "bark" around the 34 second mark.

Big Boy Haircut
We have given Max a few trims at home, but his baby locks were starting to become all one length. It didn't look all that bad when it was neatly combed, but after running around and playing it would often get in to a "rat's nest" and wasn't.... looking his best. :-)
Not wanting to completely hack his hair by trying to cut it ourselves, we took him in for his first big boy haircut!
Ben held him in his lap and I was in charge of taking pictures and distracting Max so the hairdresser could cut. The hairdresser had definitely worked with little ones before because the moment Max held still she'd cut, cut, cut! When he started to wiggle and whip his head around she was great about moving the scissors away quickly, too (which made Mommy feel better haha).
While it's not a super dramatic change, Max does look much neater with his new 'do! The sides are nice and cropped in, and the layers in the back keep it from getting all tangled up.
Here are a few before and after shots! (As good as you can get with an active toddler, anyway!)
"The Nest".... (this is actually fairly tame!)
A bit shaggy...

Catching Up
Buckle your seat belts, folks. This is a long, photo heavy post with lots of unrelated topics! :-)
--------------------
Playing with our friends at the Fernbank Museum a few weeks ago!
.... see!!
These guys needed some adult supervision, too.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Max has started a new thing where we'll say, "Can you sing me a song?" and he replies with a little song! It's so cute. Usually he'll clap for himself at the end, but one time he finished singing and we swear he said, "Thank you!" haha
Sorry for the background noise... this was recorded while we were in the car.
Max has started "swimming lessons"! It's really more of "get comfortable in the water" lessons, but adorable nonetheless. We ask Max if he is a fishie on the way to the pool and he gets so excited! His favorite part seems to be trying to drink the pool. Really though, this kid was born to be in the pool. He loves it!
Contemplating life...
I told Max I was going to take his picture and he sat on the step and said, "Cheeeeese!" hahaha

You might not think so from the next photo, but I promise Max was having fun....

At the end of last week we had the "fun surprise" of getting our septic tank pumped and repaired. We decided to get our money's worth and let Max watch some of the action! Seeing the guys dig was pretty exciting.
Later, I took Max to the park in our neighborhood to let him run around where he'd be out from underfoot. This kid LOVES to be outside. Sometimes he'll ask to go out not long after he wakes up. "Ow-Siiii! Ow-Siii! Shoe? Shoe? Peas? Ow-sii peas?" (outside please).

What kind of a snack do you give a toddler who is teething and wants to be Mr. Independent at mealtime? A whole peeled apple all to himself!
