Max pulled a baby carrier (for little babies) out of the drawer and kept trying to put it on. I tied it on in a makeshift way and he was so excited! haha
Father-son hoodie love...
Max received an important phone call and the following scene unfolded....
When Max is a grown-up and he becomes an astronaut, this is the "remember when" picture they'll put up beside his real astronaut photo!
Last but not least, a musical theater production by Mr. Max Lilly (a few moves got left out because he was so excited about being filmed!). If you're wondering about the outfit... Max was having a pajama day and found the shark t-shirt and kept trying to put it on..... baby chicks and baby sharks match, right? ;-)
Max is becoming quite the little chatterbox, and surprises us with new words all the time! Many sound pretty similar, but we can understand what he is saying. For my own memory, I thought it would be fun to record all his words at almost 16 months old:
Hi
Hello
Daddy ("Dah-DEE")
Mommy
Bye (always accompanied by a wave. Said at appropriate times, and also when he sees a car)
Bye bye, Daddy! (first set of words strung together!)
Nose ("Nooooe")
Eye ("Ey-eeee")
Apple ("App-ble" and "App-peh-ble". This word applies to all fruits.)
Dog ("Doh". This word applies to all animals.)
Outside ("Owww-duh")
Dark ("Dahhhh". Says this when he covers his eyes)
Light ("Eye-te". Says this word when he uncovers his eyes)
All done ("Ahh Dohhhn" accompanied by the sign for "all done")
No (usually says it to himself when he is about to do something he is not supposed to do, or when the dogs get too close)
I know ("Ahh-noo, Ahh-noo" Just said randomly repeating Mommy)
Baby ("Bee-bee")
Itsy (as in "Itsy Bitsy Spider")
Uh-oh (often said before he does whatever the"uh-oh" is going to be!)
Night Night ("Nye Nyeee")
Happy ("Haap-EEE")
Amen ("AHHH- mnnn")

Taking a snooze on Mommy's back during a walk...
Mommy and Daddy having fun on that same walk!
Max dancing during our crazy New Year's Eve living room dance party.
I love everything about this photo (photo courtesy of Daddy, gorgeous sunrise, mountains, lake, and toddler-baby courtesy of God)
Having fun playing with delivery boxes before Christmas.
Christmas 2013 was lots of fun with our little guy!
While we are at least a year away from him understand what is going on, believing in Santa, etc. it was so sweet to see Max run around, open packages, and be in awe of all the decorations.
Here's a little video of Max coming down the stairs on Christmas morning! I'm sure it will be much more exciting to watch in years to come. ;-)
Best of all, he had nearly two weeks jam packed with visiting family and friends. It doesn't get better than that!
Christmas celebration with friends at our house:
Christmas celebration with the Teal's / Heinlein's at Alexian Village (where Grammie lives):
Max was enamored with this toddler-sized nativity scene. He even went over to Joseph and said, "Hello!" and waved! Max kept petting the sheep (as seen in the first picture), and tried to pick it up and walk away at one point. Silly boy!
Nothing says, "Merry Christmas!" like riding the animals at Baby Jesus' birth.
We met a new friend in the hallway! Max picked up the stuffed black dog by Charlie Brown and gave him a big hug.
Four generations (and too many cameras to look at!)
Our final stop on the Christmas circuit was celebrating with the Lilly's!
Fun things to note: Valerie photo bombing the picture and Max walking Granddaddy on a leash.
