Released in to the Wild

Every morning Max runs out the garage shouting "Outside!!!" like it's the most amazing thing in the entire world. We joke that he's like an animal being released in to the wild. Here's a little glimpse of our favorite "animal" (although this "release" is more subdued than some days!).

In other news, somebody can jump and get both feet off the ground at the same time!

Max Says...

A conversation that occurred one morning when Mommy was feeling a little cranky...

Daddy: I think you need a project to get your mind on something else. Max, do you think Mommy needs a project?

Max: Mommy coffee. Mommy drink coffee.

Cutie Patootie!

 Safety first!

Max was doing a great job feeding himself... but had no idea he'd missed and gotten a big glob of yogurt on his nose!

Just hanging out in the blanket basket reading about trucks....

Doll face...

Why spend an hour in the car and a fortune on tickets to the zoo when we can go to PetsMart! A fellow toddler-mom friend tipped me off on this outing, and it's become a nearly weekly excursion. Max LOVES going to see the fish, birds, guinea pigs, and reptiles and gets especially excited when the Humane Society is visiting with the dogs and cats!

Max sat down and posed all on his own!

.... and he asked to have his picture taken on the "big rock", too!

Mommy and Max time!

Goodness... there is hardly any traces of "baby" left in this boy! Next thing we know I'll be taking this picture and he'll be wearing his backpack and heading to the bus stop for kindergarten.

Life Lately

Weekend hike with Mommy and Daddy!

Thanks to technology, we can easily show Max photos of friends and family when he misses people!

A baseball star in the making...

I thought it might be fun to have Max bake with me one day after his nap. I got him all suited up in one of my apron's (which he called his "dress"), had him stand on a chair.... and after about two minutes of trying to keep him from grabbing and dumping every single container on the counter we called it quits. haha  Maybe we'll try again when he is a bit older. :-)

Max is OBSESSED with having us build him "forts".

While we don't encourage too much silliness at the table (because it leads to throwing food and not eating), I couldn't resist giving him points for creativity on this one!

iPhone "photo booth" with Mommy!

Max loves to snuggle up with his "why-lon" (lion) and "elly-pant" (elephant) each night (and, yes, I did sneak in his room with a flashlight to take this photo. haha)

Max Says...

Max was asleep one evening and suddenly started to cry a bit and talk in his sleep. It sounded like he might be having a bad dream so I went up to rub his back and rouse him a bit to get him out of it.

Mommy: Rubs back and shushes

Max: Wakes up slightly MY t-shirt!!

Quickly flips on to his belly with "attitude".

I guess he was dreaming that someone was trying to steal his t-shirt!

--------------------------------------

Max and I returned from grocery shopping, and he was pulling a few things out of the pantry (that he's allowed to play with) while I put away the groceries. Suddenly I heard a plastic bag crinkling and Max said, "Mmmmm!"

When I looked up, this is what I saw!

Apparently he's now tall enough to reach all the way to the back of the bottom shelf and decided to help himself to some raisins!

Max Says...

Upon picking Max up at daycare one afternoon...

Ms. Ashley: Did you teach Max how to beat box?

Laura: Um... yes.

Ms. Ashley: That's so funny! He just said, "Beat box" and starting doing it!

(If you aren't familiar with beat boxing, here's a random YouTube video: http://youtu.be/_gOwFjyl8Zg Basically it's making drum, cymbal, and other noises all with your mouth. Max's beat boxing is more of just the "Boom! Chi! Boom! Chi!" variety. haha)
