We certainly had a lot to celebrate in June! Somehow we didn't get a single photo celebrating Ben's 51st birthday, but I promise we celebrated him and had a blast! ;-)

Max spent the night with Walter and Denise while Ben and I went on an anniversary date. They took him out for pizza and "Superman Ice Cream" which he loved!

Ben and Peggy are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in August, but DeAnne and Craig came to visit in June so we celebrated as a family a bit early. Max and I were in charge of decorations!

This family tree was intended to be a decoration, but Max did such a nice job with it that I popped it in a frame and we turned it in to a gift!

Out to dinner to the same restaurant three years in a row! It's nothing fancy (an order at the counter type place) but the food is so yummy! We order pretty much the exact same thing every year and swap portions of our meals so we can enjoy a bit of everything. :-)

Celebrating Ben and Peggy's anniversary! We somehow missed taking photos of anyone except Ben and Peggy, but DeAnne, Craig, Lisa, and John were there, too! All the older grandchildren were off on adventures, but sent photos with anniversary wishes.

First day of YMCA camp! This is Max's third year in a row at Y camp and he loves it. He has a "camp best friend," Michael, who has also been there every summer, and now a few friends from school attend, too. 

Now that Max is a little older, his group has been doing some new water activities! In addition to swimming in the lake, he's gotten to kayak, try stand-up paddle boarding, and go fishing. The kids also do all their other camp activities like playing games, going on nature walks (the camp is all outdoors in the woods), archery, crafts, etc. He has a blast!

One of the camp counselors gave some of the kids "tattoos" with a pen. Max chose a dragon on the back of his leg (she said, "no" when he asked for it on his chest. Haha!).

 Second grade is complete! This is a first and last day of school side by side photo.

It's fun to see how his face has changed (and teeth grown in - ha!) over the course of the school year.

The baseball season wrapped up, too! Max had amazing coaches and teammates. We'll miss playing with this crew!

We have an excellent Children's Minister at our church, and they encourage the kids to memorize one Bible verse per month (they all learn the same one). The kids who memorized five or more over the course of the school year received a certificate and were recognized during a church service! (They also got ice cream after church, which to the kids was probably the most exciting part. Haha)

Celebrating Grandmommy and Granddaddy's birthdays!

At the end of the school year we met up with a few school friends for pizza, scooter riding, and playtime. We ended up staying until dark (way past kid bedtimes!). Kids and adults all had a really fun time!

There is a little creek by the park and the boys spent SO much time throwing rocks. :-)

We ended up bumping in to a school friend, Avery (and her dog which everyone loved and is petting in this photo!). She has been doing virtual school this year, so it was great to see her and her family. She asked if we could all come back the next day. Haha! 

Max's friend had a Nerf battle birthday party and they gave all the kids vests and other gear. They had a blast!

April 2021

I'm super late on putting up photos from April, but better late than never! :-)

Max participated in the science fair at school! We had a total parent fail and forgot to take a picture of him with his own project -- doh! Haha This is this friend Connor's volcano project (Connor is the one spooning vinegar in the volcano).

Here are a couple photos we took that he used on his presentation board for the science fair. Max's experiment was to prove that air takes up space. (If you're curious :-) , we sealed off around where the funnel goes in to the water bottle. Then, we poured the water really fast in to the funnel. The air in the bottle could not escape, so the water collected in the funnel.

The Winiarski's happened to take a family trip to a town near Hiawassee on a weekend we went up to visit, so we were able to get together for an afternoon! The kids (and adults!) had fun playing the "Just Dance" game on the Wii.

Max LOVES holiday's, and he made our fireplace mantle very festive for Easter!

The Easter Bunny put Lego pieces in the eggs, so Max got to build a Lego plane after he found all the eggs!

It was pretty sunny (hence the squinty / closed eyes), but Max got to hold a real bunny! The bunny was really soft and didn't seem to mind getting manhandled by all the kids. ;-)
