Southern Snow Day

Well, it seems we have a little Southern boy on our hands. He was a fan of the snow for all of five minutes, and then exclaimed, "I'm freezing!" and went inside to snuggle up under a blanket. haha

Max Says...

Upon seeing a small pile of dog poop by the side of the road...

Max: Is that elephant poop?

-------------------------------------------

Mommy: What do you want for your snack?

Max: Umm.... I want some salmon.

-------------------------------------------

Running around outside, pointing and shouting....

Max: Thank you for my lunch! I love you, and you, and you!

Pizza and Fortune Cookies

One of the books we picked out at the library last week was about making pizza. So, on Saturday we decided to make one! Max had fun adding all the toppings, and during dinner he kept saying, "Mommy-Daddy, I make you pizza! You like your pizza?"

We had to do a little work on the pepperoni distribution... ;-)

On Sunday we went to a program at the library about the Chinese New Year! They had a Chinese dance company perform, and had a few crafts for the kids. Max did great sitting (er... standing) through the performance (which was good since we were in the middle of the crowd and couldn't have "escaped" very easily!), and seemed to enjoy watching.

They gave the kids fortune cookies as we left and Max sure did like finding the "surprise" inside and eating it! We tried to get a picture of him holding up the cookie and smiling, but this is the best shot we got. hahaha

... and his first fortune is quite fitting, we think. :-)

It's very possible that you will achieve greatness in your lifetime.

We were getting ready to leave for daycare and Max kept singing in a high, squeaky voice. It was so cute that he knew he was being funny! (The lights in the car faded at just the right moment, too!)

"I Getting My Batteries Out"

Apparently if you get tired of sidewalk chalk the appropriate thing to do is run in circles on the drive way to "Get [your] batteries out".... um, okay Max.  :-)

Proud of the "rainbow" he colored with sidewalk chalk all by himself (it's by his feet).

So proud of my big boy... Max's ball went under a tree and he kept saying he was scared to go get it (branches were low and kind of spiky). After a few false starts he crouched down and retrieved his ball all by himself! When he came out from under the tree he had a big smile, and I know he knew he'd overcome an obstacle.

A little "selfie" with Mommy and Max before school and work one morning! (When did my baby start looking so much like a little boy??)

Child Prodigy

Proof our son is clearly a genius...  (There was ZERO prompting from behind the camera!)

He's a Star!

We went to see an African storyteller at the library last weekend. After she told some traditional African stories, she talked about some notable African Americans and had kids come up to participate. It was pretty much all elementary school aged kids.... and two year old Max who wanted to be in the "show".  After he did his "presentation" about Langston Hughes, she had them do a little dance!

Reading at bedtime...

Playing with puppets after story time at the library!

Pants putting-on lesson with Dad.

We arrived at our destination and turned around to find that Max had gathered up his belongings and was ready to go!

Every morning we watch the sun rise while we eat breakfast. Caught a sweet father-son moment!
