Life Lately

Max's first time fishing!

Watching a parade in Hiawassee while Mommy was in Boston!

Refueling during a tough bike ride.

Max pretended he was a farmer and he filled the bucket on the back of his tricycle with dried grass clippings (a.k.a. hay on the farm).

Hanging out with Mommy!

All snuggled up in a towel after swimming!

Car and boat wash on the back porch. It was a bubble bonanza!

First day of school picture from his classroom!

Life Lately and Weekend Adventures

Checking out the librarian's dragon puppet!

Sir Max of the Lilly Clan is ready for the knights and princesses party at school!

Visiting a park about 30 minutes north in Ball Ground, GA. Cool, old covered bridge.

Natural rock slides! We all had fun going down.

Changed in to dry clothes and went on a little road trip! Lunch in Dahlonega with these two cuties.

A sleepy boy with his Daddy at a gazebo in a cemetery that the Lilly's dedicated years ago in Auroria, GA.

On a mini-hike, Max kept stopping at all the posts and telling me (rather exuberantly) that they said, "Go to the river!"

Unrelated to the weekend (ha!), but silly Max decided to stretch out....

... and get ready for sumo wrestling! (Daddy looks concerned about his choice of sport... hahaha!)

Happy Independence Day!

It was a fun Independence Day weekend at home! Our first since getting married. :-)

We started the day off at the Cumming parade. We saw steam engines with really loud whistles (hence the ear plugs) and tractors. After about 45 minutes we headed home as it started raining and Max was getting a little tired of watching. Maybe we can stay longer next time!

Backing up a day.... on Friday, July 3rd we went to "Sparks in the Park" in Sugar Hill (one town over) to see fireworks. Grandpa and Amma were visiting from New Hampshire! Max was really excited to see his first fireworks show!

Here we are staking out our spot... Max was more concerned about all the activities going on! (Band, inflatables, gazillions of people, etc.)

I forgot to pack Max's sippy cup so one of his favorite activities of the evening was drinking from a big water bottle. Ha...

Being silly with Daddy and Grandpa!

Exciting times... the firetruck arrived! Max and Grandpa went to check it out.

Max was mostly thrilled, but slightly terrified of the firetruck (hence the "cheese" smile while hanging on to Grandpa's shirt really, really tight!).

Almost time for fireworks!

Donning Daddy's noise cancelling headphones for the fireworks!

Not so sure about the loud booms at first....

... but clapping by the finale!

Back to Saturday... Uncle Erich and Aunt Heather drove down for a cookout!

Our first Independence Day with Dad in about 23 years!

Our neighbors lit TONS of fireworks off in the cul de sac and poor Max kept waking up and getting scared, so he got to spend the night in "the big bed" (a.k.a. Mommy and Daddy's bed). Poor Daddy got the foot end and got kicked most of the night, but it sure was sweet to wake up to this snoozy face!
