October 2018

Another fun month in the books! Here's a look at October...

Handsome boy after getting a haircut!

Ready for fun at the Cumming Country Fair!

Sticky, sweet ice cream hit the spot after a hot day at the Fair.

A rite of passage that Ben has been waiting for since Max was in my belly.... watching Star Wars!!

(Pardon the sideways photo....) Fall festival at school with friends! Due to rain and cold weather it got moved inside this year. There was no costume parade, but the kids still had a great time playing and checking out cool decorations.

Max and his friend, Riaan, with their teachers Mrs. Mili and Mrs. Rubbina.

Riaan's little sister dressed up, too - adorable!!

A bit blurry as we were on the run, but Max had fun seeing his old teacher, Mrs. Rawla, who now teaches in the Upper Building.

Scary vampire teeth!

My, what long legs you have...

Halloween night! We continued our annual tradition of going to Walter and Denise's house for pizza and trick-or-treating. Max was SO excited about his pirate costume! (The eye patch and earring lasted about 10 - 15 minutes. Ha!)

"Aaarrrgh!"

Off we go!

It turns out that Max's friend from choir, Emily Grace, lives next door to Walter and Denise! Small world! The kids had a blast seeing each other outside of church.

Score!!

Max took a photo of all the grown-ups. A little blurry, but fun to see us from his angle!

On the way home we stopped by our neighbor's house so Max could trick-or-treat. They have a couple pet parrots and one parrot, Dino, happened to be out of her cage. We tried to take a picture of a pirate with his parrot, but Dino got nervous about the costume and started flapping her wings really hard. Max got a little worried and since Dino was nervous too, Rich (our neighbor), hovered nearby. We keep cracking up about how nervous both Max and Dino look in this photo! :-)

A few more photos from the Fair!

Pumpkin carving! Or really, Max helped clean it out for 5 minutes then Ben did all the work while Max and I baked pumpkin seeds and drank apple cider. :-)

We had fun celebrating Denise's birthday at our house. Max was "helping" from afar with the candle in her cookie cake.

Max's last baseball game of the season got rained out, so they scheduled one final practice and had the boys wear their uniforms. At the end of practice they celebrated with cupcakes, cookies, and trophies!

Posing with Coach Nick!

One final team huddle - Go Braves!

Ben and Walter went to a concert one night, so Denise and Abby (their dog) came over to hang out with me and Max. Max was so excited to have Denise visit that he asked her to do his bedtime routine (Abby helped).

Having fun at Issac's birthday party!

The biggest news was Max losing his first tooth!! The tooth had been very wiggly and we tried pulling it out the night before, but Max got a little scared and wanted to stop. He wanted to try again the next morning, but when he tried to do it himself with a paper towel he couldn't get a good grip and when we tried the dental floss method it kept slipping off the tooth. Later that morning we were at Max's baseball game and Max was in the dugout waiting to bat. He was wiggling his tooth and ended up pulling it right out! Ben was helping coach and was right there and called me over from the stands. I was pretty surprised to see Max standing there holding his tooth! It was pretty exciting, and Max loved having the Tooth Fairy visit.

Having fun with Hudson and Issac at Issac's 5th birthday party! (Sorry for the sideways photo...)

One Sunday afternoon we went to the park for some running (Mom and Dad) and bike riding (Max). Max wanted to dress just like Daddy. :-)

The day Ben showed Star Wars to Max he got to drink blue milk just like in the movie!

 Family hike!

Stopping for snacks and a little reading by the river.
