I (Laura) am Chair of a Habitat for Humanity project. Max has been wanting to help, but since he's a good 10 years too young to come on-site, he decided to run a lemonade stand to raise funds for the project! The "free paper airplane with purchase" angle was all his idea. :-)
It ended up being a really sweet time together, and I loved watching him "work" his stand. We set-up at an intersection near our neighborhood pool (where there is much more traffic than on our cul-de-sac) and he did an awesome job waving his sign, trying to "upsell" customers to the combo deal (see sign below), and he made sure every single customer got his/her airplane!
Any time there was a child in the car, Max was always sure to hand the airplane straight to the child, and if there was more than one child in the car he often went back to get another airplane so they could each have their own. It was so sweet!
Max and I enjoyed the last two cups of lemonade after a great afternoon!
