August 2019

August brought the return of the school year and a fun weekend with friends! As usual, the photos are just in the order I found them in the folder, so hang in there.... we'll jump around to different topics for a bit. :-)

Ben and Peggy went on an anniversary trip and kindly offered for us to use their house in Hiawassee to host a weekend with the Krueger's and Winiarski's! As always, we had a blast spending so much time together. Highlights sprinkled throughout this post!

Doing a follow-along dance video with Natalia!

Swimming!

Rock band!

Three sweet kiddos after a boat ride!

More Rock Band....

S'mores!

More dancing!

Ben and Peggy left a couple fun gifts for the kids, and an epic silly string battle happened one morning! The buttons were a little too hard for the kids to press down, so the Dad's had to help (I don't think they minded - haha!).

Back to school popsicle social! Max is pictured with his friend Evelyn (same age -- Max is just really short and she is really tall!). Max and Evelyn were both in Blue Room for three years, and were the only two from their class to stay at MASS for Lower Elementary. They are in different classes now, but the two classes merge together for some activities so they still get to play together.

Max was playing with his swaddle blanket and asked to to wrap him up. I had to have him curl in to a ball, but I could still (sort of) do it! Haha

Max and Mommy morning at a Home Depot Kids Workshop! We build a rocket ship pencil box.

First day of school for our big first grade boy!

Max is starting Cub Scots! He is really pumped (and the uniform -- I almost typed costume -- is really adorable!).

Learning to cook scrambled eggs! He said they were the best eggs he'd ever eaten. :-)

Water gun fun with Saskia in the driveway!

More silly string!

Max asked me to comb his hair backwards after his shower so that it would be spiky. He thought it made him look fast, hence the running pose and serious face. :-)

Made some pals at the neighborhood pool!

Max got his first pair of lace-up sneakers! He figured out how to tie his shoelaces in one day, and has gotten pretty proficient! We pretty much only tie for him if we're in a rush, or if it's a floppy bow and he needs help making it tighter.

Sweet Abby joined us for the weekend, too!
