August had lots of time with friends, starting third grade, and early birthday celebrations!

Celebrating Max's birthday a little early with Grammie!

Max did a wolf research project for school, and enjoyed tracing a wolf skeleton for his presentation tri-fold board. 

Unfortunately someone in Max's class got COVID so the kids did virtual school for a week. Max uses our iPad for virtual school, but loves using my laptop once in a while to play with all the filters and backgrounds on Zoom. Here we are in a space movie!

Ben and Peggy were kind enough to let us use their house for a weekend with the Krueger's and Winiarski's while they went on vacation! Little Natalia (who just started kindergarten!) became my new best buddy.

Max and Saskia really bonded this weekend, and were rarely apart!

One of Max's best friends, Yajur (far right) turned eight years old back in February before people were getting vaccinated, etc. Now that summer has rolled around, his parents hosted a "Half Birthday Party" for Yajur and his younger brother Vidur who turned four years old in April. The kids had lots of fun!

Taking a break from ziplines and high-up obstacle courses! 

Max is on the left by the orange punching bag, and Yajur is on the left in the net. It's hard to tell from these photos, but the kids were REALLY high up in the air. They also did lots of long ziplines. 

Max, Kai, and Yajur worked so well together when one of them would get nervous or stuck or needed help moving their harness clip from one area to another. We were so proud of their teamwork, friendship, and patience!

Natalia was my cooking buddy and she helped me make a dessert for Ben and Max's joint birthday celebration!

We didn't have a chance to celebrate Ben's birthday with the friends back in June, so we had a later birthday celebration for Ben and an early celebration for Max!
