We gave Max a cyborg hand for his birthday and he was REALLY excited to build it (with help from Dad). It was probably one of the most complicated projects they've done together! Max looks very serious because... he's obviously a cyborg. ;-)
Walking toward the sunrise to get to the starting line!
This was not a section of the quarry used for the race course, but it was really cool to see! It's right off a main road near our house and it's crazy to think this is what is on the other side of the trees.
Crossing the finish line with Dad!
The race was in a quarry, so they got to see a pretty neat course!
Max went to a birthday party for his best friend from summer camp, Michael. The kids got to do laser tag, an obstacle course, and play arcade games!
Our neighborhood has a "boo basket" tradition each October. Someone in the neighborhood collects names, ages, and addresses from everyone who wants to participate and swaps names. You put together a goody basket and secretly drop it off at the person's house. Max loves the tradition! We weren't home when they dropped it off and rang the bell, but it was still fun to find the (very generous!) basked on the front step when we got home from school one day.
On another weekend, Max ran a 5K with the running group he participated in this fall. Several friends from school also participated in the program, and the boys had a BLAST!
Pre-race with Mom (it was pretty chilly early in the morning!)
Max and Vihaan!
Jack-o-lantern making before Halloween! This year, Max was very much in to helping with the actual carving and scooping out the guts.
It was very exciting to spot Max mid-race! I think he was a little embarrassed by our cheering, but I definitely saw him smile a little. Haha
Crossing the finish line - woo hoo!
We were excited to bump in to Coach Patterson after the race! The kids in the club (obviously) got very spread out because they all run at different paces, so it was nice to be able to see Coach one last time. It was a fun program!
A really nice drawing of a dragon from a book series Max likes! He had a photo up for reference, but the entire thing is drawn by hand.
Silly hang out time with Mom after the 5K!
The Krueger's and Winiarski's came over to celebrate Denise's birthday. The kids ended up pulling out all the looming supplies and made a blanket for Abby! It was so thoughtful.
The kids were very excited to give Denise their handmade present!
More wrestling!
Max set-up a Halloween scavenger hunt!
Max dressed up as a gray wolf for Halloween! He came up with all the components himself (most wolf costumes available are scary werewolf costumes, and Max wanted to be a regular, friendly wolf). For the sixth year in a row (I think?), we went to the Krueger's house for Halloween dinner and trick or treating. Always a fun tradition!
