May Photos

Mother's Day fun at a creek near a park! We had fun skipping rocks.

Trying honeysuckle for the first time!

Spring piano concert!

Max wanted to ride with Olivia to a family hike so he could sit in the back seat with Ivy!

Hula hooping at the Winiarski's house!

Max and Yajur have been friends since they were three and four years old!

More hula hooping fun!

Ms. Sujatha has known Max since he was three! She is an assistant teacher and has served in a few of Max's classrooms. They weren't together this year, but have a sweet bond and love to chat.

Bridge Ceremony from Primary to Lower Elementary, and from Lower Elementary to Upper Elementary three years later!

Another amazing season playing baseball at First Redeemer Church! End of season photo with Coach Kane.

Mother's Day breakfast snuggles!

We went to play at the park and the weather was beautiful so Max had a fun suggestion to pick up a pizza and have an impromptu picnic lunch!

Post-baseball Powerade teeth and tongue - eek!

More Bridge Ceremony!

Max's teachers, Ms. Hellavi and Ms. Kaur!

Max with his Science Olympiad Coach, Ms. Bhairavi (who will also be his teacher for Upper Elementary!)

The moms deserve a graduation celebration, too!

... and the Dads!

Our good friends, the Farmer family moved to Connecticut! Max and Micky were close friends, and Micky's mom, Renee, became a really good friend, too. We had one last playdate at the park and had big (and sad!) hugs goodbye!

Max's had fun going to a Renaissance Festival for the first time! This guy had AMAZING make-up and looked like a real gargoyle. Max wanted to take a photo with him, but as you can see from his face, he felt a little unsure when the gargoyle held his head. ;-)  Later on, we saw the gargoyle again while we were taking a snack break. He asked Max what he was eating, and Max replied that he was eating raisins. The gargoyle replied, "Ah - old grapes." Haha!

Shortly after the "old grapes" conversation!

Rope swing in the Winiarski's backyard!

Very distinguished and mature birthday boys.

Max and I popped by the library one afternoon and they were having "Paws to Read" - a time when kids can come read to a therapy dog. We got really excited because Max read to the dog in this photo when he was in kindergarten! I was able to find the photo and the owner was so excited to have a repeat reader. Max was sure the dog remembered him. ;-)

Annual last day of school ice cream cone!

Goofing around after a super fun morning of kayaking and swimming in the (cold!) lake!
