Overdue, Day 10: A Peek Inside

The purpose of yesterday's ultrasound was to take measurements of various things to make sure Max is still doing well and has plenty of amniotic fluid, etc. to sustain him. Our untrained eyes couldn't really make heads or tails of what we were looking at on the screen. The ultrasound technician said that when the baby gets to be this big it is harder to make things out, and their bones are more developed so it creates more shadows on the ultrasound screen. As she moved the "wand" down toward my right hip we got to see Max's profile! The ultrasound tech seemed surprised and said we were lucky because it is usually not possible to get a good picture at this point. 

While we wait to see him in real life, we thought it might be fun to share this last little peek inside the womb!
